


Edward F. Travis
The firm's principal is Edward F. Travis. Ed is a 1969 graduate of the University of Alabama with a BS degree in Commerce & Business Administration with a major in real estate. Ed began in the real estate appraisal business in 1971 after service in Vietnam as an Army artillery officer. In 1992, Ed completed a Master of Forestry degree (MF) from Duke University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies in Durham, North Carolina.
Ed's varied appraisal experience as an MAI, ARA and licensed real estate broker enhanced the creation of a niche practice exclusively oriented to forest appraisal and brokerage, which then expanded to forest and land management consulting as a Registered Forester and ACF member.
Ed has always felt that involvement in professional organizations was important. He currently serves as board chairman of the Alabama Forest Resources Center, which is a land trust seeking working forest conservation easements.
He was recently elected to serve as the state chairman of the Alabama chapter of ASFMRA. He is the past chairman of the Alabama Chapter of the ACF and past president of the Alabama Jubilee Chapter of the SAF (Society of American Foresters).
Ed also served as past chairman of the Alabama-Northwest Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and was appointed to Alabama's first Real Estate Appraiser's Board for a three year term ending in 1994. Ed has also been involved in forestry and appraisal instruction on a local and national level. He has instructed courses in appraisal, forest and timber appraisal and in conservation easements.
Michael Tyler Travis
Michael Tyler Travis is a Forest Technician. Tyler graduated from Alabama Southern Community College in Monroeville, Alabama in 2001 with an Associates degree in Forest Technology and has been working in the woods since an early age.
Tyler graduated in 2008 from Auburn University's School of Forestry & Wildlife Sciences with a BS degree in Forestry. He started full time work with the company after graduation. Tyler is a Certified Burner in Alabama, an avid hunter and was involved with the local Ducks Unlimited Chapter as a committee member. Tyler and his wife, Jill, live in Citronelle, Alabama.

Serves as the business manager of the firm.
Robert A. Johnson, Jr.
Robert A. Johnson, Jr., is an Alabama Registered Forester who lives in Atmore, Alabama. In 1971, he earned a BS degree from Auburn University in Forest Management. Robert’s forestry career spans 35 years and he has diverse experience, ranging from procurement activities for Hercules, Inc. during 1971 - 1973.
He later was employed from 1973- 2000 as a Forester with significant land management responsibilities and later as an Area Manager for Container Corporation in Brewton, Alabama. Smurfit- Stone Corporation subsequently acquired Container Corporation. Since 2000 he has been operating his own Forestry Consulting practice.
Robert has experience in small and large scale forest management operations, including site preparation, planting, artificial and natural regeneration, control burning, road and bridge construction, lake and pond management, stream side management zone delineations, timber cruising, timber marking, timber sale preparation, logging management and BMP (Best Management Practices) compliance monitoring.
Robert’s varied forestry experience and his unique ability to solve client’s land and timber management problems encouraged him, in 2004, to expand his services by becoming licensed as an Alabama Real Estate Salesperson. Robert is dedicated to developing long-term client relationships.
Robert enjoys hunting, fishing and golf, but especially, his family and grandchildren. He is active in his church and is well respected in his community.
The firm also retains other Registered Forestry Consultants who work as independent contractors. These individuals have worked, under the direct supervision of the firm's principal for many years, on varied projects and all possess the same land and professional practice ethics as embodied in the firm's mission statement.
